Monday, November 17th proved to be an exciting day at The Hughes Brothers Theater.   A large crowd was seated to watch the fantastic performance of the dynamic group SIX at 2:00pm. 

Kevin, Barry, Lynn, Jak, Owen, and Curtis were in top form.  The first half of the show was the regular performance that has been done throughout the season.  The second half was all Christmas music.  The audience was treated to the beautiful tight harmonies (who needs instruments?!), interaction between the brothers (and, at times, with members of the audience), comedy, and just superb entertainment. 

During intermission, SIX was shown just how important they are to the fans.  That was when Chad Ray, of BransonCritic.com was invited up on stage and presented The 2008 Best Show Award to the SIX Knudsen brothers.  Chad explained to the audience what BransonCritic is all about and told how the various entertainers are decided upon each year to receive awards.  He then read some select quotes from just a few of the fans who had sent in reviews.

“SIX is electric excitement and rhythm for the ears and eyes - high, bright, renewable energy from the first vibration to the last harmony.   What you see is what you hear….the SIX brothers keep moving, dancing and posing……and you'll know each one of the Knudsen brothers by the end of the show!  Drums, trumpets, sax and more vocally reproduced sounds well up to fill the air…….while pulsating tempos keep their dancing sporty and sharp.  Groovy humor rounds it out in this sophisticated "IN" show.  You'll lose weight dancing in your seat while all the time smiling and clapping.  LINEDANCEB

SIX kicks acapella performance up to a whole new level.  What they are able to do with their voices is nothing short of incredible.  Back-up band?  Who needs one!  Their voices provide the entire drum, bass and rhythm needed. 

Most importantly, they perform with love.  Their love for each other, their families, and their audience shines through everything they do.  Their humor is witty, charming and just plain fun - not to mention clean…….spontaneous, not rehearsed, and from the heart.  They have so much fun on the stage, how could the audience not have fun with them?  Impossible!  Dtruth2

SIX is my family’s favorite show in Branson.  From the first time we saw the show, we fell in love with these hard working, dedicated performers.  These young men provide a show that is above and beyond any we have seen.  You can feel the love they have for their fellow man and for the veterans past and present.  You feel the compassion and love they had for their mother and her dedication she had for them. 

You only hear praise from other people around you - for their talents and crisp, clean, energetic movements during their performance.  They are all unique in their own way.  When you put all that talent together, it makes for a wonderful experience…they are a good example for our youth and young people today.  They are a must hear and see group and are deserving of the title Best Show of the Year!  Linda & Nancy from Oklahoma”

The group graciously accepted the award and thanked their fans, Branson Critic, and the Hughes Family for hosting the venue.

After the Award presentation at intermission, the Award was given a place of honor during the rest of the show...on the fireplace mantle below the Christmas wreath.

It was particularly fitting that one of the audience members just happened to be Mr. Knudsen, who was able to watch proudly as his sons received the Award.
