Bucky Heard: Best Singer

Tuesday, November 22, 2005. The Legends Family Theatre hosted the presentation for the 2005 Branson Critic Best Singer Award. A good crowd was in attendance at Legends in Concert that evening. There was a mix of regular show attendees as well as many who were there specifically to see Bucky Heard receive his award.

Bucky Heard performs nightly at the Legends Family Theatre as one of the Blues Brothers. He also performs every Saturday night at the Aint’ Misbehavin’ Theatre as the lead singer for the Horn Dawgs. He has quite a following of faithful fans at both locations.

Myschel from Hawaii says, “When I listened to Bucky Heard's voice, I was just blown away. He is truly amazing. Through my friend, I was lucky enough to meet him, and he is warm, friendly, caring and just a wonderful person. His was the only show I insisted we go back to!”

Rachel says, “Bucky Heard - OH MAN can that guy jam like no body else. His voice is so strong and always on perfect pitch. He sings and the crowd goes wild…”

Anela says, “We saw him as "Jake" in the Blues Brothers at Legends. What an incredible talent! He's fabulous as an imitator and fabulous just as himself. I wanted to add my opinion that Bucky should be voted best singer in Branson. He truly made our visit memorable and we just enjoyed every minute…”

We arrive on our second day at Darren Romeo: The Voice of Magic Show to present the award:

Darren and Kristy put on a heck of a show!

Then Darren invites his fan club members on stage. The photo on the left shows Katherine, his US fan club President, on the right of Darren. The photo on the right are members of his fan club who flew in from Las Vegas, NV (USA) to see him presented with his award.

My wife, daughter Paige, friend (Danna Golden of Stonebridge Village) and I could not resist getting a picture with Darren.

Darren Romeo: Best Show

Wednesday, November 23, 2005. The Welk Resort Theatre hosted the presentation for the 2005 Branson Critic Best Show Award. A great crowd was at the show that afternoon. There was a mix of regular show attendees as well as many fans that were there just to see Darren Romeo receive his award.

Darren Romeo currently performs The Voice of Magic twice daily in the Welk Resort Theatre. He has a following of faithful fans who know him from his appearances in Las Vegas and around the world.

Latonyia, An eight-year-old girl who visited the Darren Romeo Show on a field trip said, “I do not like magic. My grandma says that it is from the devil, - so I did not like the magic part of the show. But I did think some of it was kinda neat. - I did think that Darren Romeo was a really good singer. I really liked when he sang that song from The Phantom of the Opera. I saw that play in St. Louis one day. I think I might like to be in that play some day. I like to sing and I liked Darren Romeo.”

Another young lady named Chris writes, “I was not sure I would like it. A singing magician seemed like a hokey concept. Would he be good at either? As it turned out he was very good at both. He was amazing. The tricks seemed effortless and his narration and use of music just added to the show. His magic show could have easily stood on its own, but his amazing voice just made the experience unforgettable.”

Finally one final fan wrote, “I hope that Darren plans to make Branson his home for many seasons. He is an excellent performer and a great ambassador for what I hope is the new face of Branson.”
