A Taste of Missouri

Missouri’s artisans and craftsmen are encouraged to "audition" their wares for inclusion in the offerings of Branson’s newest shopping experience, A Taste of Missouri, scheduled to open mid-July on east Hwy. 76.

"We are looking for Missouri’s finest artists, basket makers, authors, wood carvers, sculptors, potters and craftsmen to addtaste of missouri - woman eating to our stock that includes our wine tasting, complimentary meat, cheese and chocolate samples," said Jim Roller, the store’s founder and national director. "Those who wish to respond to this open call to be held on Wednesday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. should call 417-338-9463 to make an appointment."

A Taste of Missouri is located at 9308 E. Hwy. 76, Branson West, a convenient one mile east of Silver Dollar City on historic Hwy. 76.

"We are working hand-in-hand with the Missouri Department of Agriculture to find some of the state’s finest for A Taste of Missouri. Guests will enjoy our wine tasting featuring two of the state’s top wineries, Adam Puchta from Herman and Mount Pleasant from Augusta. We have sparkling grape juice for the kids," Roller said.

The store offers samplings of meat, cheese and chocolates as well. The meat is Missouri grown, corn fed, with a German flavor, and includes summer sausage, buffalo, 15 types of bratwurst, hickory and cherry smoked. The cheeses are from Missouri’s own Hiland Dairy and Lorraine’s of Galena plus a tantalizing variety of cheese spreads from St. Albens, according to Roller.

"You’ll melt in the decadence of the gourmet chocolates from Joplin," said Roller. "Remember the icy cold root beer and orange soda’s from your childhood? Fitz’s from St. Louis will provide us with those refreshing memories. The coffee shop features coffee flavors from beans that have been roasted and blended right here in Missouri."

The list of goodies seems boundless with the homemade jams, jellies, barbecue sauce, cookies, cinnamon rolls and salad dressings. The honey is fresh from the hive. Lots of delicious, unique items like strawberry salad dressing, habanero apple crunch jelly make shopping an appetizing adventure.

"Soaps, candles, bath and beauty products allow you to pamper yourself with comforts and flavors from A Taste of Missouri," Roller said
