Angel In Disguise - Tony Roi

I have been trying to decide how I can possibly write a review of Tony’s show when so many good things have already been said. I finally decided I had to try because I have enjoyed his shows so very much and I felt much younger and happier after seeing him. I believe Tony Roi is an Angel since he has such a beautiful voice and brings so much joy, love and happiness to so many people. He also has a great sense of humor, beautiful smile and his eyes, oh my. What a beautiful man in so many ways.

When you arrive at Tony’s house at Music City Center, the doors are opened and you are greeted and made to feel welcome by Richard, who appears to be a happy man and why wouldn’t he be he works with Tony every day. After everyone is seated in Tony’s House and its time for the show the excitement builds when Tony’s Powerhouse Band and his Angel Singer take the stage, all great performers in their own right.

Soon Tony comes out singing and dancing his way into everyone’s heart. He tells everyone you’re in my house now, let your hair down and do whatever you feel like, scream, jump up and down, dance; there are no seat belts on the seats. Don’t think he really needs to tell his fans that because you can’t help but get excited listening to and watching Tony.

He begins his show with his tribute to Elvis with songs like “Way Down”, “Moody Blues” and many of Elvis’s early songs, doing a great job on all of them. My 9 year old granddaughter’s favorite is “Hound Dog”, yes I have introduced her to Elvis and Tony.
It would be very hard for me to pick a favorite, but I have always loved “In the Ghetto” and when Tony sings that one it is out of this world. He finished the show with “How Great Thou Art”, words can’t describe the beauty of that one and the way Tony does it.

Tony also sings some of his own music my favorite of those is definitely “Back on the Road Again”. The words in that one are so Tony, such as “music is my soul” and “I was born to sing”. Tony recorded this and many other beautiful songs on his “Hand In Hand” CD. Tony sings and dance two solid hours, what energy and still takes time to come out after the show to visit with the fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures.

The last show I attended on June 1, a lady that sat next to me told me she brought her niece to see Tony because the niece was a big Elvis fan. When I could take my eyes off the stage I stole looks at her and at first she sat and looked like she could not believe what she was seeing. After the show I asked the niece if she enjoyed the show, her reply was “Oh yes, I ‘m in love, going to leave my husband”. Her aunt laughingly said “she won’t do that she has been married 30 years”.

I have been married 49 years and I completely understand, had the same feeling the first time I saw Tony and still do each time I see him. Tony can take you back to your youth, another reason to believe he is an angel. At least I brought Tony home with me this time by way of his DVD and CD’s. My husband is still here and enjoys the “Hand In Hand” CD as much as I do.

Branson has so many things to see and do, but if you miss 'Tony Rio’s Elvis Experience' you have missed the VERY BEST.
