Jami Asselin Reviews
4-05-06: Jami has lived in Branson, Missouri for over 25 years. She
is married to Brian Asselin - an actual native to these Ozark Hills
and together they have two wonderful children - Briana and Bryce.
Both Jami’s father and mother were avid musicians and vocalists and
shared their love for music with their 3 daughters. From as early as
she can remember, Jami has been singing and learning harmonies with
her 2 older sisters. They use to switch harmony and melody parts
several times within a song to keep people guessing who was singing
what.
There was an old “out of tune” piano in the basement of their home
and before long, Jami taught herself to play one song after another.
By the age of 8, she was writing her own music and playing it
two-handed on the keys. Her parents bought an old guitar at a
secondhand shop and brought it home one day.
Not knowing how to properly tune a guitar, Jami did what any
logical, 8-year-old piano player would do. Duh. Tune it like keys on
a piano! She knew the sound coming out of that guitar was NOT what
it was suppose to sound like so she made up her own chord formations
with her fingers on the frets and went to town. Until one day she
discovered no one else played the guitar like she did. Wanting to
learn correctly, she asked a guitar playing friend how to properly
tune a guitar, and the rest is history.
Growing up in Branson, Missouri provided many opportunities and
venues of music to take advantage of. Jami has been able to perform
on several stages and in clubs for years singing one cover tune
after another, until she joined up with a group of friends and
started creating her own music. As a result she has found writing
and co-writing her own music to be much more rewarding. Now part of
the band Final Indecision, they have just released their debut album
- The First of Many. Hear the entire album at this link>

Living in Branson for so many years has given Jami an opportunity to
get to know several musicians and see hundreds of shows. Jami is
currently a Senior Editor for Branson Critic and her #1 priority is
to help make your trip to Branson a fantastic vacation getaway and
one your family will treasure forever.
“The talent I have seen in this town never ceases to amaze me,” she
says. " When I was young, I took what Branson had to offer for
granted, but I learned as I traveled to other areas in the world,
and played with other musicians in other shows, that what we have
nestled down in these Ozark Hills is something very special. There
is not another place in the world like it. However, Missouri is also
the “Show Me State” so we understand that people have to come and
see for themselves and that is EXACTLY what we want and hope you
will do. "
“I am going to hit the streets of Branson and take in the new 2006
shows!! I will be posting my personal reviews of each show, so be
sure to keep checking back with me. Send me a line and let me know
YOUR opinion. “
If you are a theatre or show manager and would like Jami to review
your show, she would love to hear from you as well.
