5-5-06 Hello everyone and welcome to
Branson Critic. We went
to see the
Legends In Concert show recently. This show first started out in
Las Vegas and has been performing in Branson for quite a few years.
As we sat there and watched, I couldn’t get over how much these
highly talented performers really act and sound like the original
super stars - even capturing the mannerisms and style of the star
they were impersonating.
One
hit song after another. I was paying very close attention to see if
any one was cheating – you know- lip synching. There is a lot of
audience contact going on which in my opinion is a great idea
because you get a chance to hear each one sing into their microphone
as they walk by you. No cheating here!
They have worked hard and have
their act stage ready for you to come and admire. Another feature
they add is actual footage of the “real” star on a large screen for
you to compare. It helps you appreciate even more the likenesses
these impersonators have to the real star. Good idea!
Want a picture of yourself with a
star? No problem. They are all very accommodating during the
intermission and after the show for any pictures you might want to
take.
We watched Neil Diamond, Marilyn
Monroe, The Blues Brothers, Alan Jackson, Diana Ross, and of course
Elvis Presley.
I think my favorite was the Blues
Brothers. They were all over that stage and the vocals were strong
and consistent. I don’t know how they could move around so much and
still have enough breath left in them to sing! It was also very
evident that they really enjoyed pleasing the audience.
Marilyn steams the whole theatre up
with her sultry performances. She even picks a special person from
the audience to be her pet for a few parts. I tell you one thing,
the poor fellow that
she sang to during this show didn’t know which end was up after she
finished working him over. There wasn’t a bare spot on his head that
didn’t have a bright red lip stick-ed kiss on it.
There was also a group of female
dancers that came out dressed in a new sexy costume for every number
they danced. They were full of energy and excitement.
And I can’t forget to mention the
band, even though the band was small in number, it was large in
sound.
People walked out with Alan
Jackson’s picks and Elvis’ blue satin scarves. I don’t want to tell
it all though.
Diana Ross will blow you away with
her uncanny resemblance and sound. Oops there I go again.
There was never a dull moment
through out the night. We were entertained and totally enjoyed every
minute of it. So as they say in Hollywood. This show is a thumb’s up
in my opinion. Come see for yourself!
