Doug Holland (owner of Branson Critic and a fan of
Justin Long's work) interviewed Justin Long (Justin
Long Band).
Doug: "I just love their music, and I believe they will
hit it, big time. I hope they stay focused when the success
hits." He continues, "Branson Spotlight winner of 2005 was the
beginning of what will soon to be a great success story"
Below is the breakdown interview and pictures
with Justin's Music.
Doug: Who’s all in your band?
Justin Long "lead singer"
Zoe Williams "pianist/vocalist"
Doug King "rhyhm guitar/vocalist"
Scott Whitman "lead guitar"
Kyle Vance "bassist"
Matt Moulin "drums"

How long have you had this band?
Since March of 2005.
Do your write your own songs?
Yes, we do. We currently have around 20 songs we have written. We
are taking our time with producing our first official album. We are
all song writers and we are coming up with some great new material.
We want our first album to be the best it can be.
How far will you travel for a gig?
That depends. We want to see the world eventually, but for now, we
are limited to Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Is your fan base growing?
Yes, it is. Things are happening so fast right now. Some places have
never heard of us because it is moving so quickly. They usually
don't expect us to pack a place out, but that is what is happening.
Catches them off-guard. We love it.
How is your website doing?
The website is doing great! We have designed it ourselves and there
are plenty of things left to add. You can hear our music streaming
there, check out our next performance, view our purpose and even
contribute to the ministry.
Since our hearts are with the ministry, we do a lot of charity
stuff. We are hoping that many business owners would like to
contribute to help us with equipment, gas money, etc. In return, we
are placing ads within the site to help them out.
Where do you live? Do you see yourselves heading out west (or east)?
We all live in Springfield, Mo. Our intentions are to go everywhere
we possibly can. Ultimately, even overseas. We laugh a lot when we
see movies made in other countries. "We could put a stage right
there," or "That would be a cool place to play, I wonder if they speak
English," or "hope the translator has a good vocal," LOL. Just a few
things to look forward to.
What’s the biggest crowd you’ve performed for?
We had the opportunity to lead in for a band called Farewell June.
There were about 500 people there.
Do you have your own album?
What we have is what Justin has put together in his home studio. It
has 5 of our songs on it. Even though we are perfectionists and want
it to be done right, we still have many people that want the CD. It
is very good for right now. We've received some great feedback so
far. We are taking offers for a recording contract.
Who leads the band?
Me, Justin "the lead vocalist"
What are your future goals for your band?
We want one thing. Just to survive by playing our music. Many
sacrifices are made to do what we do. It leaves us with empty
pockets a lot. But, we are blessed to have this opportunity. Our
number one goal is to spread a positive message to people. It is a
ministry and we cannot take that lightly.
(Doug's note: Thanks for the mini-interview Justin)
Now sit back and enjoy listening to the best new
