The Branson Brothers Show

We first attended The Branson Brothers Show back in March, 2006. We returned to Branson August 3 - 9 and took in two Shows. I let my 12-year-old daughter set our agenda for August. She became a fan of Terry Sanders back in 2003 when we first saw a show featuring his comedy. I share her passion for this Show and it was very easy for me to agree to two shows.

The Show’s music format is a variety of genre including Country, Gospel, Pop, R & B, Soul and Rock featuring a bit of each decade from the 1950's forward. Intermixed with the music are several comedy skits that kept the audience in stitches. Even having seen the Show several times, we found ourselves rolling with laughter. Some of the musical numbers and comedy skits include cameo performances from unsuspecting audience volunteers. All have a good time during these skits.

Funny man Terry Sanders is hilarious in every persona he takes on from feisty Grandma Beulah to nerdy Fred Smoot. Terry is a people watcher and gets much of his material from watching the public and capitalizing on the funnier aspects of human kind. Terry continues his character performance as Deputy Barney Fife at Celebration City. He totally gets ‘into’ this character and can be seen staunchly defending his squad car, posing for photos, showing where he keeps his bullet and leading “YMCA” and “Shout” dances for all takers to join in prior to the light show. Underneath all the funny, is a truly wonderful person and all-around nice guy.

The Branson Brothers is a trio made up of Jimmy Ponder, Dee Allen and Andre Shepherd. They perform beautifully together and the show is formatted so each has several opportunities to shine alone. Andre has a fabulous velvety smooth voice that lends an R & B feel with lots of passion. Jimmy’s tenor is crystal clear and a delight to hear. Dee delivers a sensuous sultry voice to round out the trio. All three are quite handsome and combined with their musical talent make for a very appealing performance.

Joining the trio is the beautiful Diana Ponder and her captivating daughter Natalie Nicole. Both these ladies bring a feminine touch to the Show. Diana has a softer/sexier sound and Natalie Nicole brings a broad range that includes a bold alto for the country numbers and a higher pitch for the fun songs of the 50s/60s.

The Branson Brothers Band provides the music. The Band has several bits that showcase each member’s talent. Drummer Brad Allen is Superb. My dad (who was a drummer for a band in the 50s) was in attendance in March and was quite impressed with Brad’s performance. The band provides back-up vocals as well. The talent of the Band members is top-notch. They bring a bit of fun to the stage along with their fabulous musical talent.

The Branson Brothers Show is our favorite Show and worth seeing over and over. This Show provides something for everyone. From young kids to more seasoned adults. You’ll laugh at Terry’s antics and tap your feet along with the great music. I look forward to planning our next trip. My only regret is we are six hours away and cannot attend more frequently.
